Shepherd – #WeAreAzureHills

Scripture Meditation:

John 10:14 & 27
(14) I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.

(27) My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you for being the good shepherd of our lives. In this world of uncertainties and responsibilities, please remind us to pause and listen for your voice of peace and hope. We know you long to draw us away to green pastures and still waters. We invite you to do that in our lives today.
Thank you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Reflection question.

In what part of your daily or weekly routine do you hear things that cause you stress or worry? Aside from your responsibilities as a parent or employee, do negative thoughts creep in at certain times of the day that make you feel defeated? Listen to the voice of your shepherd at these times, reminding you that your whole life is in his hands. Nothing in our routine or life catches him by surprise.

Identify areas in your day when anxieties tend to creep in the most, then use a spiritual strategy to combat them. Maybe a prayer, a call to a close friend, a scripture written on a card, or a song that reminds you of God’s control over all things in life. For example, if looking at news coverage of the corona-virus makes you feel anxious and that things are out of control, have a spiritual strategy in place to remind you that the good shepherd is still leading you amid all the chaos.
